Groups step up to help young Henderson family hit with stroke, cancer | Community Spirit
A Relay for Life team in Henderson County is raising money for a local family hit hard by serious medical problems this year.
Kassye Butler has a cancerous tumor on her left leg and her husband, just 28 years old, suffered a stroke earlier this summer.
While both are receiving treatment and therapy, neither can work. They have two small children.
The Relay for Life team, together with Terror on the Trails, is selling tickets for chicken dinners they will be cooking next month. The proceeds will help with the family with expenses.
The cooking will take place at Atkinson Park in Henderson on Sept. 24. They are $8 which includes a half chicken and sides. To order or for more information, contact benefit organizer Misty Garrett at (270) 860-6330.
