Bend Gate Elementary 5K for 5,000 and Pint Size Hero Blood Drive | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Bend Gate Elementary students were challenged to read 5,000 books by Thanksgiving break. Staff informed them that if they reached the 5,000 goal they would run/walk the 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day in Henderson.
“Due to the hard work of our students and staff we haven’t just met that challenge, we surpassed it a month early…our kids read 5,000 books before the end of October. It was a lot of fun,” said Bob Lawson, Bend Gate Elementary Assistant Principal.
Next up? In collaboration with the American Red Cross, the school will host Pint-Size Hero Blood Drive on Thursday, December 6, from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Bend Gate Elementary gymnasium.
