St. Anthony’s Hospice presents Getting “The Best Care Possible” Through the End of Life. Dr. Ira Byock will be speaking at the Henderson Fine Arts Center from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30.
1.5 CEU Credits will be offered to nursing and social work. There is no cost for tickets or CEU’s.
Dr. Byock has been a consistent advocate for the voice and rights of dying individuals and their families. Dr. Byock has authored numerous articles on the ethics and practice of hospice, palliative and end-of-life care and written several books (click here to see them); He is the premier physician in the area of palliative patient care.
Dr. Byock understands end-of-life care and the importance of honoring patient wishes. He also will help you understand and make clear not only how to honor and care for others, but also how to make known what matters most to you at the end of your life.
Dr. Byock is the author of “Dying Well” (1997), “The 4 Things that Matter Most” (2004), and more recently “The Best Care Possible” (March 2012), which tackles the crisis that surrounds serious illness and dying in America and his quest to transform care through the end of life.
