New asphalt coming to Henderson County roads

 

Governor Steve Beshear today announced that asphalt rehabilitation projects totaling more than $64 million have been awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet as the spring construction season continues.

Two of those projects are in Henderson County:

A reminder about a traffic alert that will affect drivers in and around Henderson.  The KY 425 Henderson Bypass will close for the first of several rounds of concrete pavement repair starting Saturday, May 4.

This initial closure of the KY 425 Henderson Bypass runs from mile point 2.429 at the intersection with US 41-Alternate to mile point 4.474 at the intersection with US 41.  This section of the KY 425 Henderson Bypass is expected to remain closed until about May 15.

Wolf Hills Road to be closed part of next week

 

The City of Henderson Public Works Department will be closing Wolf Hills Road to continue improvements. The road will close to through traffic from Hwy 41 to the entrance of the landfill  on Monday morning (5/6/2013) at 8:30 am and reopen at 3:30 pm.

On Tuesday morning the road will close at 8:30 am and should reopen to traffic  Thursday afternoon (5/9/2013).

Mowing along KY roadways begins; KTC says be alert

 

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reminds you that state highway crews and contract crews have started litter pickup and mowing activities across the region.  Motorists are reminded that mowing equipment operators are required to cross travel lanes from time to time as they go about their work.  Motorists are reminded that a mowing zone requires the same caution as any other work zone.

Whenever you see a Mowing Zone sign please slow down and be alert.

Driving the Audubon next week?  Expect slow downs

 

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane along the Audubon Parkway in Henderson County starting Monday, April 29.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic on the Audubon Parkway will be restricted in 4-mile segments to allow shoulder and erosion control work along the median.

The crew plans to start at the Audubon Parkway/Pennyrile Parkway Interchange at Henderson and work eastward to about the 8 mile marker along both the eastbound and westbound lanes.  All traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone.
